Banaras Hindu University is set to host a significant academic event celebrating Odia language and literature. The two-day National Conclave, titled "Rediscovering Odia Language, Literature, and the Making of a Cultural Identity," will take place on January 17 and 18 at the Mahamana Auditorium.
The event will bring together distinguished scholars, writers, and academics to examine the historical evolution and contemporary relevance of Odia literary traditions. The inaugural session will feature BHU Vice-Chancellor Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi and Prof Kailash Pattanaik, with Dean Sushma Ghildyal presiding.
Key academic presentations will include Prof Jatindra Kumar Nayak's keynote address on critical discourse in Odia, alongside contributions from prominent scholars. The conclave will also feature a cultural evening with Hindustani flute recitals and Odissi dance performances, highlighting the intersection between literature and performing arts.
