CoRover.ai has announced that its *BharatGPT* suite of models is now listed on *AIKosh*, the National AI Datasets and Models Platform set up under the *IndiaAI Mission* by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The listing, approved after review by IndiaAI and MeitY teams, includes three models with strong language components.
*BharatGPT Mini* is a compact 538-million-parameter foundational model supporting Indic languages, built for efficient deployment across varied environments. *BharatGPT Instruct*, based on a Mixture-of-Experts architecture, is an instruction-tuned multilingual model for text generation, coding and reasoning across Indic and global languages. The *ASR Hindi Conformer* converts spoken Hindi into text, achieving a competitive Word Error Rate of 24.72 percent on the AI4Bharat/Lahaja benchmark.
Founder and CEO Ankush Sabharwal framed the move as part of CoRover's push for "Sovereign AI," describing it as a step toward making Indian-developed, multilingual AI capabilities accessible through a national platform while expanding real-time Hindi speech recognition and Indic-language text generation tools.
