Starting December 2, 2025, Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 will celebrate the enduring cultural bond between Tamil Nadu and Varanasi, bringing together over 1,500 delegates across seven categories. The month-long initiative, conceived by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, concludes with a grand finale in Rameshwaram.
IIT Madras and Banaras Hindu University will serve as nodal institutions, overseeing all logistical arrangements in coordination with the Uttar Pradesh government and Central Ministries. The platform represents a significant educational collaboration aimed at promoting Tamil language and heritage nationally.
This edition introduces "Tamil Karpom", enabling North Indian students to study Tamil in Tamil Nadu. Key initiatives include Tamil language sessions in Kashi, the Agasthya Expedition tracing Sage Agasthyar's contributions from Tenkasi to Varanasi, and digital promotion of Siddha Medicine through decorated vehicles displaying heritage content in Indian languages. Additionally, 300 Uttar Pradesh students will receive Tamil orientation at the Central Institute of Classical Tamil.
