Marathi to Be Taught in Rajasthan Universities

Rajasthan's universities will soon establish *Classical Marathi Language Study Centres* following directives from Governor Haribhau Bagde. The Maharashtra government's proposal to promote Marathi study and research in Rajasthan has been accepted, with letters sent to all universities in the state.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra has made Marathi language instruction mandatory for students in Classes 1 to 10 across all school mediums and education boards. The decision follows concerns raised by BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar and other legislators about schools not teaching Marathi despite existing regulations.

Education Minister Bhuse announced a special statewide inspection campaign to ensure compliance, with strict action promised against violators. Schools must appoint qualified Marathi teachers to implement the policy effectively. The government has emphasized its commitment to preserving and promoting the Marathi language through these measures.

Additionally, Bhuse noted that content on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in textbooks has been expanded from one-and-a-half columns to 22 pages with central government approval.
