Tamil Nadu is set to organize a multi-phase World Tamil Conference spanning international locations including the United States and the United Kingdom, marking the state's first global Tamil event in over 15 years. Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has approved preparatory work for the ambitious initiative.
Unlike traditional single-venue conferences, this event will hold sessions across multiple countries to engage Tamil scholars, researchers, and academicians worldwide. Minister for Tamil Development A Rajmohan will visit the US from July 1-7 to consult with Tamil scholars and diaspora members about the proposed conference.
The event will feature academic discussions on classical Tamil, alongside parallel seminars and sessions focused on cultural exchange and knowledge-sharing among the global Tamil community. Officials emphasize that the consultations aim to ensure broad participation from Tamils worldwide, strengthening connections between the language's speakers across continents.
