Dr. M. Mohan Alva, President of Alva's Education Foundation, has reaffirmed his commitment to securing constitutional recognition for the Tulu language. Speaking to the *Namma Kudla* channel, he said efforts will continue to have Tulu included in the *Eighth Schedule* of the Indian Constitution, a status that would grant it greater institutional support and recognition.
Dr. Alva revealed that a detailed study report on the Tulu language has already been submitted to the government, prepared with inputs from Tulu language scholars. This report is expected to strengthen the case for Tulu's official recognition.
In addition to the push for constitutional status, Dr. Alva said efforts are underway to have Tulu recognized as the *second official language of Karnataka*, a move that would elevate its administrative and cultural standing within the state.
Beyond language advocacy, Dr. Alva also mentioned plans to provide NEET coaching for PUC science students from Tulu-speaking families, aiming to boost representation of the community in medical education.
