AXX Leader Calls for Unity Beyond Language Signboard Issues

Debojit Bora, Principal Secretary of the Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX), emphasized that *"merely colouring the signboards of the Assamese language black is not a solution to all our problems"* during an open session in Dibrugarh. Speaking at the conclusion of a five-day central 'Kunhi' programme and children's Bhaona festival, Bora called for a more nuanced approach to resolving linguistic issues in Assam.

He urged all parties to clear away misunderstandings and remain vigilant to prevent language-related tensions from creating hostility or sowing discord in society. The statement appears to address ongoing debates about language signboards in Assam, suggesting that such symbolic actions, while visible, do not address deeper linguistic challenges.

Bora also spoke about the recent devastating floods in Upper Assam's four districts, calling on the government to determine their cause and provide adequate assistance to affected communities. The event was organized by AXX's central 'Kunhi' sub-committee in collaboration with the Dibrugarh Zilla Xahitya Xabha.
