Bihar's Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari announced that students in Classes I to V will be taught in regional languages including Bhojpuri, Magahi, Maithili, and Angika, alongside Hindi. The initiative aligns with central government guidelines promoting mother tongue education during foundational years to improve learning outcomes.

During a review meeting at Vikas Bhawan, Tiwari outlined several measures to strengthen the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), including filling vacant posts through Bihar Public Service Commission recruitment. The minister also emphasized strengthening Sanskrit education and ensuring quality language instruction.

Additional directives included organizing teacher training programs in August, skill development for Classes VI-VIII students, and monitoring education quality through regular school visits. Officials reported that supplementary books for Classes VI-VIII and guidebooks on various educational aspects have been prepared to support these initiatives.
