The 22nd All-Goa Late Poet Shankar Ramani Konkani Poetry Recitation Competition, titled *Kavya Srujan 2026*, was organized by the Konkani Saraswat Mandal of Goa University's Department of Language and Literature on Wednesday.
The event saw participation from students across Goa who presented self-composed poems on themes including the Konkani mother tongue, social issues, and love. Chief guest John Aguiar described poetry as "an ocean of emotions and a reflection of thoughts," while Dean Prof. Anuradha Wagle emphasized poetry's ability to express complex ideas concisely.
Akanksha Gaonkar from Kare College of Law claimed first prize, bringing home the rolling trophy. Akanksha Terne of Ganpat Parsekar College secured second place, while Pratiksha Sangavkar from Government College, Quepem, took third.
The competition highlights Goa University's commitment to promoting Konkani literature and providing a platform for budding poets to showcase their talent in their mother tongue.
