The India AI Impact Summit, scheduled from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, will highlight indigenous AI development efforts under the *IndiaAI Mission*. The event will showcase 12 Indian startups building foundation models trained on Indian datasets and languages.
Key participants include Sarvam AI and Soket AI Labs, developing multilingual large language models for 22+ Indian languages. Voice-focused initiatives include Gnani AI's speech understanding platform and Gan AI's text-to-speech systems. BharatGen, led by IIT Bombay, is creating multimodal models for agriculture, legal services, and healthcare sectors.
Gen Loop is building lightweight models supporting all 22 scheduled Indian languages with emphasis on efficiency and scalability. Specialized applications include Avaatar AI's digital avatars for agriculture and governance, Intellihealth's EEG interpretation system, and Tech Mahindra's enterprise solutions for Indic languages and dialects.
The summit, organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, aims to establish India's sovereign AI capabilities while addressing linguistic diversity and sector-specific needs across education, healthcare, agriculture, and public services.
