The Malayalam Mission Bahrain Chapter marked Kerala Piravi Day - the formation anniversary of Kerala - by hosting its annual Language Day Festival at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam Diamond Jubilee Hall. The celebration brought together various cultural organizations in a vibrant display of Malayalam language and culture.
BKS General Secretary Varghese Karakkal officially inaugurated the event, with Chapter President P.V. Radhakrishna Pillai offering felicitations. The program commenced with a language pledge followed by cultural performances presented by children studying at nine schools under the Mission's umbrella.
Since pioneering overseas operations in 2011, the Bahrain Chapter has grown substantially. Today, it serves 2,500 students across 11 study centers, delivering Malayalam language instruction through the voluntary efforts of more than 150 dedicated teachers who provide their services free of charge. This initiative demonstrates the community's commitment to preserving and promoting Malayalam heritage among the diaspora.
