Mumbai's newly arrived non-AC local train with automatic doors has sparked controversy over language signage errors. After initially facing criticism from Shiv Sena (UBT) for inadequate Marathi representation in compartment identification, the Railways installed Marathi signboards inside coaches. However, these boards contain grammatical errors in Marathi text.
Central Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer Swapnil Nila clarified that the train is currently undergoing trials by the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) and has not been released for passenger service. He emphasized that once testing is complete, proper signage will be provided in all three languages - Marathi, Hindi, and English.
The CPRO requested critics to verify facts before commenting, noting that premature criticism of a train still in the testing phase is inappropriate. The rake will only be made available to commuters after all necessary tests and corrections are completed.
