The Mayurbhanj district administration, in partnership with the Labor Department, launched an awareness campaign on April 6 as part of the statewide *Odia Paksha 2026* celebration. District Collector Dukhbandhu Nayak inaugurated a foot march from the Collector's office to Chhaupadiya, Baripada, aimed at promoting the use of Odia language in commercial spaces.
The initiative, guided by the State Labor and Employee Insurance Department, focuses on ensuring that all shops and commercial establishments display signboards prominently in Odia. The campaign seeks to create widespread awareness among business owners and the general public about incorporating Odia in everyday commerce.
As part of the program, a specially decorated awareness Rath was also inaugurated. This mobile unit will tour the district, continuing efforts to educate and encourage citizens to embrace and promote the Odia language in their daily business activities and public life.
