E-commerce platform Meesho has introduced *Vaani - Your Meesho Dost*, a generative AI-powered voice shopping assistant designed to make online shopping accessible through natural language interactions. Currently available in English and Hindi, the tool targets an estimated 500 million potential users who find traditional typing and filter-based interfaces challenging.

Early testing that began in February 2026 showed promising results, with over 1.5 million users engaging with the assistant. The initiative led to a 22% increase in conversion rates while reducing product returns and cancellations, indicating improved customer satisfaction and purchase accuracy.

Co-Founder Sanjeev Kumar emphasized that AI has been central to Meesho's operations, noting their existing AI voicebot for customer support already outperforms human agents in customer experience metrics. With over 251 million annual users, the company leverages deep understanding of Indian shopping behaviors to innovate effectively.

Meesho plans to expand *Vaani* to additional regional languages, recognizing this as a crucial next step in serving India's diverse linguistic market.
