Rajamahendravaram Rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary and Vice-Chancellor Dr D Muniratnam Naidu jointly inaugurated new facilities at the Sri Potti Sriramulu Telugu University campus, including music, dance, and examination centres for the Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao International Telugu Centre.
The MLA announced Rs 75 lakh for developing internal roads at the campus and emphasized seeking additional support through CSR funds and donors to restore the university's "past glory."
Dr Naidu outlined comprehensive development plans requiring approximately Rs 100 crore, to be implemented in phases during his tenure. He revealed proposals worth Rs 9.40 crore for 2025-26 and Rs 2.20 crore for temporary structures in the next financial year.
The Vice-Chancellor highlighted urgent needs including an administrative block, library, auditorium, and museum. He suggested that controlling all 35 acres of existing land would enable construction of multi-storied buildings to accommodate various academic functions and specialized chairs.
