The National Institute of Technology Srinagar concluded its Rajbhasha Saptah (Hindi Week) on April 17, following a week of activities aimed at promoting Hindi as an official language in administrative work. The event, organized by the institute's Rajbhasha Cell from April 13-17, featured competitions including administrative vocabulary and essay writing specifically designed for ministerial staff.
Dr. R.P. Shukla, the Hindi Adhikari, emphasized that such initiatives help build employee confidence in using Hindi for daily official communication. He stressed the need for effective implementation of the *Official Languages Act, 1967* to promote structured and consistent use of Hindi in administrative functions.
Director Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia underscored the importance of promoting Rajbhasha for linguistic inclusivity and administrative efficiency, while Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman praised the efforts in fostering multilingual proficiency. Awards were presented to top performers, with judges from RRIUM Srinagar and the University of Kashmir evaluating the competitions.
