The Hans India
Bengaluru-based Sarvam AI has announced the launch of Sarvam Kaze, positioning it as India's first fully designed and manufactured AI-powered smart glasses. Unveiled at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, the device represents a significant milestone in domestic hardware innovation.
The glasses feature voice command responsiveness, visual capture capabilities through embedded cameras, and a developer platform for third-party applications. Scheduled for commercial release in May 2026, an initial chat feature will be available this week.
What distinguishes Kaze from competitors like Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses is its AI foundation. The device runs exclusively on Sarvam's proprietary models specifically trained for Indian language processing, voice interface specialization, and document analysis. This focus on Indian linguistic contexts addresses a significant market gap where most smart glasses primarily support English.
However, critical details remain undisclosed, including pricing, detailed hardware specifications, battery performance, and real-world AI accuracy. The May launch will test whether Sarvam AI can successfully compete with established international players in the smart glasses market.
