The Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) of Srinagar convened its first meeting of 2026 at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, chaired by Chief Postmaster General Sagar Hanuman Singh. The session focused on strengthening the implementation of the *Official Language Policy* across Central Government departments operating in the Kashmir Valley.

Chairman Singh reviewed compliance with Section 3(3) of the *Official Language Act* and emphasized the need for Central Government offices to become exemplars in promoting Hindi through simple, accessible communication. Key directives included upgrading bilingual websites, expanding use of Unicode tools and the Bhashini AI-powered translation platform, and organizing joint Rajbhasha workshops.

The committee urged employees to undertake Hindi training courses - Prabodh, Pragya, and Praveen - through online and correspondence modes to develop working proficiency in the Official Language. The meeting brought together representatives from various Central Government departments, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, and Central Armed Police Forces to share suggestions for advancing Hindi usage in official work.
