The Andhra Pradesh State Creativity and Culture Society launched a two-day Telugu Mahotsavam at the historic Undavalli Caves to preserve and promote the Telugu language and its cultural heritage. The festival emphasized Telugu's status as one of India's ancient classical languages with rich literary traditions.
Key literary events included *Aame Maata – Akshara Baata*, a discussion featuring prominent women writers exploring Telugu literature from medieval poet Molla to contemporary writer Volga. An open-air poetry session, *Chettu Needana Chirugaali Kavithva Gaana Karyakramam*, brought together poets from across Andhra Pradesh to present works on Telugu language, history, and social issues.
The festival also featured traditional storytelling sessions with Panchatantra tales, shadow puppetry performances based on the Sundarakanda, and musical programs celebrating Telugu film songs. Officials stressed that preserving Telugu was a shared responsibility and expressed hope that such festivals would inspire younger generations to appreciate their mother tongue and strengthen the language's cultural identity.
