VoM News has launched a dedicated Kashmiri-language news platform, marking a significant expansion in regional journalism for Jammu and Kashmir. The new service, available at kashmiri.vomnews.in, will deliver news and analysis in Kashmiri, a language spoken by over seven million people and recognised in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.

Kashmiri, or *Koshur*, faces mounting challenges including urbanisation, migration, and the dominance of Urdu and English in education. Its limited digital footprint and declining intergenerational transmission have weakened its position among younger generations. Editor-in-Chief Dil Bar Irshad emphasized that the platform will embrace multiple dialects from across the Kashmir Valley and Chenab Valley, creating an inclusive space for linguistic diversity.

The initiative builds on the success of VoM News' Urdu service, launched in August 2025, which gained strong engagement in the region. Founded in 2015, VoM News plans further expansion into Dogri and Pahari, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive, locally-rooted journalism and cultural preservation.
