The *Bhashini Samudaye* platform has emerged as a centralised hub for multilingual AI development, onboarding over 10,000 contributors including startups, academic institutions and individual volunteers. The initiative supports creation of datasets, glossaries and AI models for India's diverse linguistic landscape.
Shrutlekh, an AI-powered real-time speech-to-text transcription and translation tool, operates across 22 Indian languages and has been deployed at over 100 national and international events, including the India AI Impact Summit and the World Summit on Disaster Management. The tool has demonstrated practical applications in conference accessibility and cross-platform integration.
The *Bhasha Daan* initiative continues crowdsourcing linguistic data for low-resource and underrepresented languages, creating large-scale datasets for parallel corpora, speech recognition and transliteration. Voice-first AI tools enabled by Bhashini are improving digital service delivery for non-literate and semi-literate populations in rural areas. MahaVISTAAR-AI, a Maharashtra government mobile application, leverages these multilingual capabilities to provide real-time agricultural advisory services to farmers.
