Google Chrome has expanded its AI-powered features to support more than 50 languages, including eight major Indian languages. The rollout, announced last month, brings *Gemini in Chrome* capabilities to users across India, supporting Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, and Tamil.
Built on Google's Gemini 3.1 model, these features aim to help users access and understand information more efficiently without switching between multiple tabs. The language support is currently available on desktop and iOS platforms.
In addition to the AI features, Google has introduced vertical tabs and an improved reading mode to enhance the browsing experience. The vertical tabs layout allows users to move tabs from the top to the side of the browser window, making it easier to read full page titles. The upgraded reading mode removes visual distractions like ads and pop-ups, creating a cleaner reading experience.
