ElevenLabs has unveiled Expressive Mode for Eleven Agents, a significant advancement in emotionally intelligent voice technology now available across multiple Indian languages.
The new feature combines the Eleven v3 Conversational text-to-speech model with an improved turn-taking system, allowing AI agents to understand not just *what* is said but *how* it's expressed - creating more natural, contextually appropriate responses in real-time conversations.
This technology addresses a critical need in customer service, where emotional nuance often determines interaction quality. By supporting languages including Hindi, Bengali, and Tamil, ElevenLabs enables Indian businesses to create voice experiences that reflect how people actually communicate across the country's diverse linguistic landscape.
Karthik Rajaram, Country Head for India, emphasized that this shift from scripted automation to emotionally aware conversations will help brands build trust at scale. The technology is already being used by several Indian companies including Meesho, Cars24, and TVS Motors for multilingual customer engagement.
