The *National Conclave on Tribal Languages and Museums* opened in Mysuru on August 24, 2026, bringing together policymakers, linguists, technologists and tribal community members for a three-day dialogue on preserving India's tribal linguistic heritage. Organised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs with the Karnataka State Tribal Research Institute and the Central Institute of Indian Languages, the event showcased several major initiatives.
A key highlight was the expanded *Adi Vaani* platform, now featuring an iOS app, five new tribal languages, and a fresh logo, aimed at improving digital access to tribal linguistic resources. The Ministry also unveiled *Jago*, an AI-powered bot serving as a single access point for tribal welfare information. Further strengthening documentation efforts, the Ministry and CIIL signed an *MoU* for tribal language corpus development.
The conclave also released learning materials, including the *Class 1 Jenukuruba Primer*, alongside sessions on speech technology, endangered language revival, and the upcoming *Mysuru Declaration* on tribal museums.
