Visakhapatnam observed *Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam* on August 29, marking the birth anniversary of noted Telugu linguist-writer Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy. Among the celebrations, students of NRI Indian Springs School, Lakshminagar, organised a special programme dedicated to honouring the richness and cultural significance of the Telugu language.
The highlight of the event was an elocution competition, which gave students a platform to showcase their speaking skills, confidence, and command over Telugu. The initiative aimed to create greater awareness among students about their native language, literature, and traditions.
Dean N Ramadevi and Principal AR Chaitanya recognised outstanding performers with certificates, encouraging students to take pride in expressing themselves in Telugu. CEO Jyothi lauded the collective efforts of the school management, faculty, and students, while urging children to respect their mother tongue even as they build proficiency in other languages.
The event served as a reminder of Telugu’s role in shaping identity, heritage, and cultural pride among the younger generation.
