Senior leader Pawan Khajuria has raised concerns about the neglect of Dogri language in Jammu and Kashmir, calling for its active promotion to preserve the region's cultural identity.

Speaking at a press conference in Udhampur, Khajuria highlighted the stark reality that despite 1427 government schools in the district, Dogri is taught in only two institutions. He emphasized that limiting the language to official documents is insufficient and urged families to use Dogri at home to ensure younger generations remain connected to their linguistic heritage.

Khajuria pointed out that although Dogri was included in the "Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution", it has not received adequate respect or encouragement. He demanded the appointment of dedicated Dogri language teachers and effective inclusion of the language in school curricula across the region.

The press conference was attended by several local leaders including former Sarpanch Bishan Das and other community representatives who supported the call for preserving this important regional language.
