A new initiative to unite Pune's 45,000-strong Sindhi community under one umbrella organization will be launched on August 1. The *Vishva Sindhi Seva Sangam (United)*, which has been operating globally across 92 countries for 27 years, aims to create a structured platform for preserving Sindhi language and culture.
State president Bobby Karnani explained that the organization seeks to address limited community participation in existing bodies by establishing area-wise committees and a central coordinating body. The platform will organize cultural celebrations including Cheti Chand, Lal Loi, and Sindhi Language Day to actively promote the Sindhi language and cultural heritage.
Beyond cultural preservation, the organization plans to facilitate access to government welfare schemes, create a directory of Sindhi entrepreneurs for business networking, and hold annual programs to strengthen community bonds. An introductory meeting will soon constitute the core committee and prepare an annual calendar of activities focused on educational, social welfare, and entrepreneurial initiatives.
