The state-level Bangiya Utsav 2026 transformed Jamshedpur's Gopal Maidan into a vibrant cultural hub on Sunday, drawing thousands of participants from across Jharkhand. The festival, dedicated to preserving Bengali language and cultural heritage, featured an impressive lineup of performances.
Former Chief Minister Raghubar Das and other dignitaries inaugurated the celebration, emphasizing how Bengali culture forms an integral part of Jharkhand's social fabric. They praised the Bangiya Utsav Committee for connecting younger generations to their roots.
Highlights included yoga demonstrations, spiritual music, traditional dance performances, and a special jugalbandi featuring flautist Ashok Das and mouth organ artist Vikas Kumar Sheet. The evening culminated with folk singer Arpita Chakravorty's soulful performance.
Twenty-five associate organizations received recognition for their contributions to social and cultural activities, adding to the festival's significance as a celebration of cultural unity and diversity in Jharkhand.
