One India Kannada
The Karnataka Vidyavardhaka Sangha has formally petitioned the Railway Ministry to permit candidates to take departmental and promotional examinations in Kannada, arguing that the current policy constitutes discrimination against Kannada speakers.
Led by Sangha president Chandrakant Bellad, a delegation met with V. Somanna, Union Minister of State for Railways, in Hubballi to present their memorandum. The organization emphasized that denying employees the option to write internal exams in their regional language creates an unfair disadvantage for Kannada-speaking railway workers.
The Sangha warned that failure to address this *injustice to regional language speakers* would perpetuate discrimination against Kannadigas. Their specific request includes issuing clear directives that would establish Kannada as an additional examination language option.
Minister Somanna responded positively to their concerns, assuring the delegation that the matter would be examined promptly and appropriate measures would be implemented to address the issue.
