Kuvempu University, in collaboration with the Kannada Development Authority and Anna University in Chennai, will organize a three-day capacity-building workshop focused on Kannada language data collection and linguistic annotation starting March 9 at the Shankarghatta campus.
The workshop will be inaugurated by Prof. Sharath Ananthamurthy, Vice-Chancellor of Kuvempu University, with participation from key figures including Santosh Hangal, secretary of the Kannada Development Authority, A.B. Ramachandrappa, and Vijay Sundar Ram from the AU-KBC Research Centre.
According to Prof. Meti Mallikarjuna from Sahyadri College in Shivamogga, one of the organizing institutions, the workshop targets postgraduate students and research scholars. Four experts from Anna University's AU-KBC Research Centre for Emerging Technology will conduct training sessions to build participant capacity in Kannada data collection and linguistic annotation techniques. The program aims to strengthen technical skills in processing and annotating Kannada language data for research purposes.
