Tamil Nadu has made significant strides in promoting the Tamil language through ambitious translation initiatives. The state's *Muttamizharigna Translation Project* has published 160 educational and informative books on subjects like medicine and engineering in Tamil, making specialized knowledge accessible to Tamil readers.
Complementing this effort, the *Dravidam in Every Direction* project has published 74 books translating Tamil literary works into foreign languages such as English, expanding Tamil literature's global reach. The state has also undertaken publishing the thoughts of Periyar E.V.R. and Ambedkar's works in 21 languages, including English, French, Arabic, Hindi, and Gujarati. Additionally, 27 volumes of Ambedkar's works have been translated into simple Tamil for public editions.
Tamil Nadu hosted an International Mathematical Tamil Conference, pioneering computer Tamil development unlike any other Indian state. The state continues cultural promotion through initiatives like the Sangamam-Namma Uru festival for folk artists and the Samathuvaap Pongal festival celebrated across all districts.
